MSC World America restaurants: what is free and what costs extra
MSC advertises seven complimentary restaurants and six specialty venues. Here is what that count means in practice—and where we would eat late at night.
The short answer
MSC World America has plenty to eat, but its included lineup offers fewer distinct concepts than the headline count may suggest.
Main dining, buffet venues and Luna Park Pizza & Burger form the core of the complimentary lineup. The most distinctive restaurants—Eataly, Paxos, Butcher’s Cut, Kaito and Hola!—are specialty choices.

What stood out on our sailing
Luna Park is the free late-night advantage
MSC World America does not offer a huge number of distinctly different complimentary restaurant concepts. However, Luna Park Pizza & Burger was a real strength after the evening shows. The combination of pizza and burgers offered more variety than relying on a reduced late-night buffet or a pizza-only venue, as is common on many ships.
One traveler in our party follows a gluten-free diet. On our sailing, nachos gave her another option at Luna Park. That is a useful firsthand observation—not a guarantee that the ingredients, preparation area or cross-contact risk will be suitable on every sailing. Ask the crew before ordering.
Complimentary and restricted dining
MSC’s official page says the ship has seven complimentary restaurants. The table explains the choices travelers will use most often and where access is limited.

These are the venues that create much of the ship’s dining variety. They normally cost extra, although a dining package, promotion or MSC Yacht Club benefit may change what you pay.
Paxos
Greek seafood, grilled dishes and meze in a bright promenade setting.
Butcher’s Cut
MSC’s American-style steakhouse with custom cuts and an à-la-carte feel.
Kaito Sushi
Rolls, sashimi and other sushi-bar selections.
Kaito Teppanyaki
A performance-style grill experience with chefs cooking at the table.
Hola! Tacos & Cantina
Tacos, fajitas and other Mexican-inspired dishes. Hola! is a specialty venue, while the Luna Park nachos mentioned above were a complimentary option on our sailing.
Gluten-free planning
Use the main dining room as the safety anchor
MSC says meals made with gluten-free ingredients are available in the main restaurants on most ships. It also says the main dining room is best equipped for dietary requests and that accidental cross-contact cannot be completely ruled out.
- Tell MSC about the dietary requirement when booking and no later than the stated advance deadline.
- Confirm it with Guest Services and the maître d’ after boarding.
- Speak directly with the dining supervisor before relying on any buffet or quick-service item.
- Treat the nachos we found at Luna Park as an option to ask about—not as an allergen guarantee.
How we would plan a week of dining
Most dinners: use the assigned main restaurant for the rotating menus and the strongest dietary-support setup.
Casual lunches: use Il Mercato or La Brasserie, then check the daily schedule before assuming every station is open.
After a show: head to Luna Park first. The combination of pizza, burgers and, on our sailing, nachos makes it more useful than a pizza-only late-night stop.
One paid meal: choose the cuisine you cannot reproduce in the included venues. Either Eataly or Paxos provides the biggest change of pace; Kaito Teppanyaki is the more experience-driven choice.
