Your cruise plans stay yours

The core planning tools work without an account and keep saved selections on the device you are using.

Effective date: July 19, 2026

Information stored on your device

Saved ships, port plans, First Cruise Companion progress, Cruise Memory Map entries, future goals, and locally compressed photos use browser storage on your device. Cruise Made Clear does not receive that locally stored planning or memory information through the core tools.

Clearing browser data, using a private-browsing window, switching browsers, or changing devices can remove local information. The Memory Map includes export and import tools so you can keep a personal backup.

Interactive map tiles

When the Memory Map is opened, map images are requested from OpenStreetMap. That request can include standard connection information such as IP address and browser details. Saved memory text and photos are not sent as part of the map-tile request.

Information you choose to submit

The contact form can collect your name, email address, topic, page URL, source URL and message. This information is used to review and respond to the submission, investigate corrections and protect the form from abuse.

Hosting information

Our hosting provider may process standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps and security logs to deliver and protect the site.

Cookie-free analytics

Cruise Made Clear uses a small first-party analytics request to count page loads, major planning-tool opens, ship comparisons, quiz-result generations, saved port plans, and saved cruise memories. Analytics records contain only the normalized page path or tool label, the referring website’s hostname when available, and a server timestamp.

Analytics records do not contain cookies, advertising identifiers, persistent device identifiers, quiz answers, search terms, saved ships, port-plan details, Memory Map text or photos, booking information, names, email addresses, IP addresses, or browser details. The analytics request is not sent when a browser enables Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. Because no person or device identifier is stored, the dashboard reports page views and tool activity—not unique people.

These minimal records are stored with the hosting provider and automatically removed after 90 days. Standard delivery and security logs maintained by the hosting provider are separate and may process technical connection information as described above.

Sharing

Submitted information is not sold. It may be processed by service providers needed to host, secure or operate the site, or disclosed when legally required.

Retention and requests

Contact submissions are retained only as reasonably needed to respond, maintain correction records and prevent abuse. Analytics records are retained for no more than 90 days. Use the contact form for a privacy request.
